- We met at the university at 9am and drove in Katherine's car with all our own equipment down to the location which we arrived at just after 10 am. As soon as we got there we explored the space again briefly and myself, Katherine and Sugini entered into a conversation about the kind of shots we wanted to achieve while Ethan and Umor set up the camera equipment.
- This shoot was a lot more about how we can film and use the space as we didn't have dancers here with us. This was helpful as equipment like the gimble was being used which gave the camera team time to practice with this in the space and pick up on any potential issues now.
- When the camera team began filming I observed and took photos of them doing this for the production pack etc and it also allowed me to be involved in the visual conversations suggesting shot ideas to the team. This shoot was very quick so we didn't get a chance to try out all the shot ideas however Sugini noted these down so that we could resist them as and when we needed to.
- I also while here took more location shots as well but trying to particularly focus on framing so that these can potentially help when developing the shots. I also felt like I wanted to focus on capturing the detail for eh space a lot more as I know this can sometimes be overlooked. Below are some of the images I captured...
- Lastly I did get a chance to capture a few videos as well as because our time was limited and the camera team were focused on more complex shots I wanted to help as much as possible so captured some shots myself to bring to the table which could be used in the pre-vis edit but also as inspiration for the shot list.
- I felt this Pre-Vis was short but sweet as we did manage to have a lot of good discussion over visuals but didn't necessarily get a chance to try them all but we now have a lot to review and prepare for the actual shoot which has been made easier with this Pre-Vis. Also this Pre-Vis will become part of a short video used to advertise and raise money for the budget of the piece.
